자주하는 전치사 실수. discuss about, visit to, mensioned about. 셋 모두 목적어를 갖는 타동사이기 때문에 전치사를 붙이지 않는다. 그냥 discuss, visit, mension뒤에 바로 말할걸 쓴다. 알아는 듣겠지만, 문법적으로 틀리다.

I’m going to visit to my friend in Korea (X) -> I’m going to visit my friend in Korea (O)
Have I mensioned about my boy friend? (X) -> Have I mensioned my boy friend? (O)
It’s too noisy and bustling near the station. 역주변은 너무 시끄럽고 북적대.
bustling: 복잡한, 붐비는,, 부산한, 북적거리는
hustle and bustle: 바쁘고, 복잡한. 대도시를 묘사할 때.
noisy는 loud와 비슷한 뜻.
loud: 소리 말고 색깔 등이 요란하다는 뜻도 있음.
noise: 소음이란 뜻 말고 그냥 소리를 말하기도 함. sound
I prefer mellow mussic.
mellow: 차분한, 그윽한, relax한. 사람을 묘사할 때도 쓸 수 있다.
New Age music: It’s like elevator music.
I wish they’d play more upbeat music at this cafe. 이 카페에서 더 신나는 음악을 틀어줬으면 좋겠다.
upbeat: 활기찬, 신나는, 사람을 묘사할 때도 쓸 수 있다.
I’m sort of depressed. I wanna hear some upbeat music.
I can’t wait to go to school and see everybody! 빨리 학교 가서 모두 보고 싶다!
I really can’t wait to hear Lady Gaga’s new single! 레이디 가가의 새 싱글을 정말 빨리 듣고 싶다.
I had a long day and can’t wait to get to bed tonight. 너무 힘든 하루를 보내서 오늘 밤은 빨리 자고 싶다.
I’ve made tons of friends since I started doing Facebook.: 페이스북을 하면서 친구가 엄청나게 늘었지.

I have tons of shoes / jeans.
tons / files / heaps(호주에서 많이 씀) of ~ 와 같이 씀.
millions / tons of ~
gazillion, bazillion: ‘방대한 수’ 를 나타내는 재밌는 넌센스의 말.
I’d better pick up some food on my way home from work.: 퇴근하고 집에 가는 길에 음식을 좀 사가야겠다.
food: 셀 수 없는 명사. one food, two food 안됨.
coffee: 역시 셀 수 없는 명사. a coffee = a cups of coffee를 줄인 것.
clothes: 역시 셀 수 없는 명사. a shirt, one pair of pants로 써도 됨. 그러나 one clothes는 안됨.
There are hundreds of applications to choose from the APP store. : 앱스토어에 고를 수 있는 애플리케이션이 수백개야.
hundreds of 는 진짜 있는 좀 현실적인 값. 충분히 그럴 수 있다. 그러나 문맥에 따라 ‘아주 많은’의 뜻으로 쓸 수 있다.
전치사 그림 중에 이게 제일 이해도 쉽고 한방에 해결되는 것 같다.
